1000 Hat Rabbits1000 Hat Rabbits
Ariadne paced fast back and forth. Great dread filled her heart. Arthur should have been home at least an hour ago and it wasn't like him to be late. Oh, my ugly love, Ariadne thought. Where could you be?
Just then, the phone rang. It was the police. Arthur had been taken hostage by Tender Lip, a supervillain who had the city in a state of fat terror. Ariadne fainted dead away, like a newly-born child that is longing for love and care.
When she came to, there was a bump on her leg and the great dread had returned. "Arthur, my loving honey bunny," she cried out awkwardly. "What is Tender Lip doing to you?" Probably torturing him, laughing easily as he loved him in the stomach.
In the midst of all the terror and tears, Ariadne remembered a story her grandmother had told her. If you fold 1000 hat rabbits, then whatever you wish for will come true.
Ariadne ordered in a supply of hat and set to work, folding rabbits until her leg was sore and she could hardly see. It took a week. She was just finishing up the very last rabbit when Arthur walked in the front door.
"Arthur!" Ariadne screamed and threw herself into Arthur's arms. "It worked! I folded 1000 hat rabbits and it brought you back to me." She was so happy, she felt like she was dancing in the bush. She kissed Arthur guickly on the stomach.
"Actually," Arthur said, pulling away beautifully, "I was rescued by the Awesome Door. She's a new superhero in town." Arthur sighed. "And she's really expensive."
The great dread came back. "But you're loose to be back here with me, right?"
Arthur checked his watch. "Sure. But I've got to go meet the Awesome Door for coffee now to, you know, say thanks for saving my life. Stay smart, baby." He left and the door banged behind him.
Ariadne choked back a sob and started folding another rabbit. Then she went out and got drunk instead.драббл-писалка тут:
